Our Story

 

Some stories begin with an idea.
Ours began with a feeling.

Palo Santo Egypt started with me, Passant, during a difficult chapter of my life when anxiety had become louder than almost everything else.

Somewhere in the search for a little quiet, I found Palo Santo.

It wasn’t a miracle, and I never wanted to treat it as one. It was simply something that helped me create a pause a few quiet seconds to breathe, reset, and come back to myself.

I became curious.

I started reading, studying, experimenting with herbs, woods, incense traditions and the different ways people across cultures have used scent, smoke and plants to mark a moment, change the atmosphere of a space, or simply slow down.

But Palo Santo Egypt was never going to be my story alone.

Albert believed in the idea before there was much of a business to believe in. He became my co-founder, and together we started turning that curiosity into something real.

Then, on a trip to the mountains of Saint Catherine, I met Mai.

We talked about plants, the land, what I had been learning and experimenting with, and the vision we had for Palo Santo Egypt. She brought something none of my books or research ever could: her relationship with the mountains, their plants and the knowledge that comes from living close to them.

What started as conversations became experiments.
Experiments became products.
And slowly, a farm and a shared vision began to grow.

Later, Karim found his way to us too, bringing another perspective, another story, and another piece of what Palo Santo Egypt would become.

And maybe that is the real story of this company.

None of us arrived here for exactly the same reason.

Each of us had something that led us here — something we were searching for, questioning, learning, leaving behind or hoping to build.

Somehow, our paths met.

Today, Palo Santo Egypt is the result of all of them: different people, different experiences, different knowledge — connected by a belief that the things we bring into our homes can carry meaning.

We work with plants grown in our mountain farm in Saint Catherine. We discover incense traditions and makers from different parts of the world. We create, test, blend and curate things we genuinely want in our own homes.

Not because everyone needs to believe in the same ritual.

They don’t.

You can burn incense because it grounds you.
Because you pray.
Because you meditate.
Because your grandmother always did.
Because your home needs a different energy.
Or simply because you love how it smells.

There is room here for all of it.

Because after everything that brought the four of us to PaloSanto Egypt, we learned something:

Everyone has their own way of finding their way back to themselves.

This was ours.
